For more than 30 years I have been an educator and have provided workshops on design and trends impacting the tradeshow and event industry. I usually write or speak about engagement strategies, design elements, new technologies, and trends that will influence the stories you tell, and how you tell them, at trade shows and events.
Needless to say, this is an evolving reality.
In all my years of design leadership, trend-tracking, and educating, we have never faced a crisis like we face today. This evolving reality is changing at a staggering pace, leaving us all overwhelmed, fearful, and questioning the future of our industry, jobs, and well-being. But like every crisis we have faced in the past 30 years, there is a light on the other side.
Not to minimize what we are experiencing now, but I am confident this event will cause a needed evolution for our industry. This is a flashpoint in time that will force us to be even more creative once it is over. It will force us to look at more sustainable and imaginative solutions to communicate and connect with our customers. I look at it as a learning opportunity.
More so than ever, we need to partner with each other with compassion and inclusion as we face this new reality.
We all face a real concern for our own well-being and health. As we transition, let’s remind ourselves that every individual faces a different risk as a result of this event. No matter our age, religion, race, or lifestyle, we must treat each other with compassion, respect, and inclusion.
We know events are not over. But while we endure this pause, give us a shout we'd love to hear from you and brainstorm with you. We’re here to help.
Together we will find new ways to tell our stories.
Together we will find creative ways to engage, excite, and inform our customers in this new reality.
Together we will win!
