At Steelhead Productions, we’re very fond of our logo, Chip. It’s evident as soon as you walk into our facility in Las Vegas, or in spotting our crew across the tradeshow floor. Everyone can’t help but smile when they see Chip! So we decided to sit down with our happy mascot and learn more about him, and why he perfectly represents what we’re all about: Exhibit Happy.

Hi, I’m Chip!

My full name is Chipper, but all my friends call me Chip. I was born at EXHIBITOR 2011, and it’s been a wild ride ever since. You can often find me at the Steelhead Productions headquarters in Las Vegas, my home away from home. But my first home is on the tradeshow floor. This is my calling, my time to shine Steelhead’s promises out into the world:

You can also find me on some fun Steelhead swag — everyone from the executive team to our team members, to our clients and industry partners, love to receive a little swag with my smiley face on it!  

I like to make people smile because in this business, and in life, we all need to have a little more FUN — amirite?! I’m what you would call the office clown. It’s kind of like the class clown, but with more computers and grownups who can’t start their day without a coffee. I’m the one who puts trick candles on the birthday cakes, who keeps hitting the mute button on Zoom, and puts whoopee cushions in the boss’s chair, hehe!  

But it’s not all jokes, oh no. I take my job of stamping my face on everything very seriously. Because when people see my smiling face on a crate, swag bag or an envelope, it gets the crowd PUMPED for what’s inside! I mean who doesn’t love a surprise gift?!  

Anyway, here are some more fun facts about me:  

Interests: Trade shows, cool brands who need fresh exhibits, mind-blowing booth designs, sustainability, VEGAS baby! Oh. And amazing hair.  

Love Interest: Karman, AKA Karma. She sure knows how to keep me in my place!

BFF: My man Buddha, of course!

Personality Traits: Easy going, humorous, optimistic, loyal.  

Lifestyle: Always on the go!  

Life Goals: To make everyone smile. To achieve enlightenment. And to plant 1 million trees.    

Favorite Food: Gluten-free pizza and local craft beer.  

Favorite Activities: High-fiving strangers, of course! Playing pranks on the Steelhead staff is also a favorite. And giving hugs.  

Favorite Song: “All I Do Is Win” by DJ Khaled. It’s my jam!  

Favorite Charity: There are so many incredible charities I’ve worked with, it’s impossible to name just one favorite.  

Favorite Game: Hot potato. But only when I get to be the potato!  

Most Embarrassing Moment: Crying at the end of “Coco.” Every. Time.  

Favorite Place to Travel:  Any tradeshow venue, but especially all the hot spots in Las Vegas!  

Favorite Mode of Transportation: By crate.  

Favorite Pickup Line: “Are you a camera? Because every time I look at you, I smile!” Ha!  

Favorite Sustainability Hack: Air purifying plants, stainless steel straws, and replacing old lightbulbs with LEDs.
